Monastic Life In Black & White

In 2009 I made my first trip to the Gyuto Monastery in Dharamsala in northern India. The monks were generous in both their time and patience with me. Despite the riot of colour that over 500 burgundy robed monks can produce, I wanted to shoot as much as I could in black and white film to highlight the practices of the monastery and their timeless way of life.
